Our Summer Favorites
Can you believe summer is ending and the school year has already begun for some?! Here in South Carolina the summer weather is definitely not ending so it will feel like summer for awhile longer. We have enjoyed this summer with a trip to see family, fun adventures, and lots of water play! I’m going to start a series on my blog here where I’ll share all of our favorites: seasonal, fitness, baby, & more! So, because we are still in summer mode I’ll share our favorites from the past few months!
Popsicle molds – I will fill these with leftover fruit baby food, apple sauce, watermelon juice, or even smoothies. A great way to sneak in those fruits & veggies!
Indestructible Books – I first saw a friend have one of these at a playdate after Stroller Strides and thought the concept was awesome. At this point I didn’t need them for Isabella but was pregnant with Elysia and knew they would be great to have! They are very affordable and make great gifts!
Bike & push car – It gets pretty hot and humid here but my girls love being outside so we go on walks around a half mile loop by the house. Currently Isabella will use her little bike and I push Elysia in the push car. They have been so nice to have and the girls love them!
Walmart jellies – These sandals have been purchased the last two summers and they are our favorite. They go with any outfit, Isabella can put them on herself, and they are super affordable. I will say they last about one summer, but she isn’t going to fit in them the next anyways. Shop Here
Contigo water bottles – We all have one of these actually and love them for on the go. I always have one in the diaper bag as well. They come in fun prints and smaller size for the kids.
Sunscreen – My little redhead has helped us make a habit of wearing sunscreen whenever we are outside for more than a few minutes. We currently love the Babyganics lotion one and the Pacifica stick. Babyganics also makes bug spray which we have loved too and has worked great!
Baseball Caps & Headbands – Postpartum hair loss is no joke and mine so happens to be at the front of my hair leaving little pieces to go every direction except down. Therefore, I have become a baseball cap Mom and when I want to be “fancy” but in a hurry I’ll use a headband from The BE. BRAND (so many different ways to wear them!). https://www.thebebrand.org/
CJLA basics – Seriously the best! I have a few pieces and they wash and wear so nice. So many times I’ll buy the cheap version of tanks and tees and they don’t always looks great after a few washes. For me I want the length of the shirt to stay the same and CJLA does it right. https://www.carlyjeanlosangeles.com/
Sandals – Anyone else have the brown leather Birkenstocks when they were younger? Pretty sure I had the knockoff version and I remember my feet would sweat so bad. Anyways, this summer they apparently came back into style and Target made a knockoff version of a foam/plastic pair I love! They have been awesome to wear to the pool or splash pad because they can get wet. Sorry they are sold out at Target but you can find the Birkenstock version here.

To My Daughters
It will be interesting to see if any of these things are still around or “in style” when you read this. I hope these posts will be interesting for you to see what we used as a family and how our favorites change from season to season or year to year. This summer was so fun watching you girls grow and learn so many new things! Isabella you talk more each day and are starting to learn songs and good habits. You also turned three which I can barely handle, but I love the girl you are growing up to be! Elysia is now sitting and army crawling all over the place. You say “Mama” which makes my heart melt and you love being close to the action (serious fomo). You both are so beautiful and I am thankful for the memories we made this summer and excited for the fall when we can actually enjoy being outside more.
Favorite Summer Trip: family vacation to Ohio (if you don’t count Disney World in May)
Favorite Moment at Home: family ball fight in our living room (lots of laughter and friendly competition)
Favorite Tradition: our Sunday selfies (if you didn’t know already Mommy loves taking pictures)
